JACK'S SUMMER SLATE TEAMS UP
JACK, the producers of
Honesty, Pencil, Rose, has announced that the production teams for their latest films,
LOSSED and
LET ME FINISH, will participate in a joint effort
. JACK will combine the two production teams and shoot both films simultaneously, beginning June 28th. LOSSED, written by and starring JACK's own Annette Reid, is the first short film written by Annette Reid, in which she arrives to help a friend in need, but finds she has her own demons with which to deal.
LET ME FINISH, produced by Annette Reid, is a short film about two old friends (or are they?) who converse (or do they?) JACK is a project of the Pasadena Arts Council's EMERGE Fiscal Sponsorship Program.

It's a good thing Annette is on the Board of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, because she gets all the inside information. But it's not considered Insider Trading as she's allowed to share it. This month's good news will be announced at June 11th's Press Conference. But you don't have to wait until then. California are joining together to create a new Initiative. It's called the "African American Breast Health Care Initiative" designed to decrease the high mortality rate of breast cancer among African Americans. Such important work. Stayed tuned for more information after June 11th.
This month's health tip : Physical activity can actually lower your risk for Breast Cancer. Exercise can help with weight control. This is perfect for postmenopausal women since being lean lowers the risk of breast cancer. And, physical activity may lower estrogen levels in women, which can also protect against breast cancer. Physical activity may also boost the body’s immune system so that it can help kill or slow the growth of cancer cells. Remember, walking counts. Just 30 minutes, 3 times a week.
