Martin Stamper AKA Fast Heart Mart in concert with Ves Frank September 23rd, 2017 at the Flood Gallery
Hold on tight for Fast Heart Mart’s fast banjo songs, laugh at his funny story songs and contemplate the sad ones. Fast Hart will be travelling through Asheville as part of his two month national tour this year. Fast Heart Mart's message is to encourage the world to follow their bliss and live life passionately. From old time country to modern rock, to story telling rap and back to punky-bluegrass, Fast Heart Mart wins over any crowd.
Martin Stamper was born with a heart condition that killed him a few times, so Fast Heart Mart became his trail name while hiking the Appalachian trail in 1995. When Martin began performing music in public in 1999 he thought Fast Heart Mart was a good stage name. He has opened for Beck, the Handsome Family, and Jeffrey Lewis just to name a few. Come to a performance and you’re guaranteed to be inspired!

September 2017 Film Screenings
2160 Hwy 70
Swannanoa, NC
Every Friday at 8pm

Sept 8 ~ “The Last Metro”
Director: François Truffaut (France 1980; 131 min)
Gérard Depardieu and Catherine Deneuve star as members of a French theater company living under the German occupation during World War II—a Jewish theater manager in hiding; a leading man in the Resistance; increasingly restrictive Nazi oversight—the troupe believes the show must go on.
Sept 15 ~ “Wild Strawberries”
Director: Ingmar Bergman (Sweden 1957; 92 min)
Traveling to accept an honorary degree, Professor Isak Borg is forced to face his past, come to terms with his faults, and make peace with the inevitability of his approaching death. Through flashbacks and fantasies, dreams and nightmares, this film dramatizes one man’s remarkable voyage of self-discovery.
Sept 22 ~ “Babel”
Alejandro González Iñárritu (France | USA | Mexico 2006; 143 min)
When an American couple vacationing in Morocco falls victim to a random act of violence, a series of events unfolds across four countries. (Starring: Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, Gael García Bernal)
Sept 29 ~ “Made in U.S.A.”
Director: Jean-Luc Godard (France 1966; 85 min)
Starring Anna Karina as the most brightly dressed private investigator in film history, searching for a former lover who might have been assassinated—also points toward the more political cinema that would come to define Godard. Featuring characters with names such as Richard Nixon, Robert McNamara, David Goodis, and Doris Mizoguchi, and appearances by a slapstick Jean-Pierre Léaud and a sweetly singing Marianne Faithfull, this piece of pop art is like a Looney Tunes rendition of The Big Sleep gone New Wave.

What is a Jelly? A Jelly Co-working event means to meet up with like-minded people to work together in a different environment, to exchange help and advice, and maybe come up with a new idea to collaborate on. Jelly differs from networking in that the aim is not to find new clients or to sell yourself or your business.
Ty Hallock will be hosting Jelly's at the Flood Gallery every Thursday from 11am to 5pm. Come by and participate!
