action-packed.
Our woman-led team has been hard at work on three Dallas–Fort Worth projects — more than 2,440 commercial doors installed and counting.

AB Finishes’ woman-led team has been hard at work on three local Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas projects: a Westlake private corporate training facility, a Fort Worth land-grant university campus building, and an online retailer’s warehouse in Cleburne. Here’s where each one stands.

Project 01 · Westlake, TX
Corporate Training Facility
A private corporate training facility spanning three buildings — classrooms, ballrooms, community spaces, kitchens with dining areas, and approximately 600 dormitory-style guest rooms, secured with 1,961 commercial doors. We reached our TCO on December 31, 2025. As the commercial doors & hardware installer — and a “finish trade,” one of the last crews on site to protect expensive door and hardware finishes — we were 75% complete at TCO, having met both fire code and building code for the Authorities Having Jurisdiction. Through Q1 2026 we worked closely with the GC’s project managers and the security teams to re-test, diagnose and repair wiring, adjust doors once the buildings were fully functional, and close out open items like the entry vestibule auto-operator installation and programming. Clients fully moved in by March 1st, and we began working through “requested changes” — converting single 3-0 doors to pairs for moving larger items, wiring inner-vestibule auto-operators into the security system, and updating doors and hardware to meet fire code as room occupancies were finalized. |

Project 02 · Fort Worth, TX
Land-Grant University Campus
A land-grant university campus building outfitted with 259 commercial doors — securing a space built to “bring top researchers and industry partners together.” After installing temporary doors and securing vault areas in 2025, we remobilized in February 2026 to finish the project — installing doors and hardware across the mechanical, study, classroom, lecture-hall and staff-office spaces. To preserve finishes, we were brought in only for the final months. We’ve been pushing to completion — often working six- and seven-day weeks, handling last-minute changes, installing and videoing our electric hardware installations, and lending our expertise to work through constraints and hit milestones. As faculty and staff move in, we’ll be working nights to button up post-TCO open items over the coming weeks. |

Project 03 · Cleburne, TX
Online Retailer’s Warehouse

We were brought in to rescue this 220 commercial door project after the previous installer admitted they’d never installed commercial doors — and failed to show up. We took over in October 2025 and re-worked the existing doors to achieve the correct hardware installation. After demobilizing at the end of 2025, we remobilized in June to install the office-space wood doors once the area was climatized. To prepare for TCO, we’ve been tying up loose ends — coordinating electric hardware with the security team and making hardware changes to meet fire code. That work included retrofitting 75 exterior doors for more than emergency egress by adding an exit-device trim with keyed cylinder. These doors already had an interior panic bar; we drilled, prepped and added the exterior trim — the handle or plate that dictates how, or if, you enter from outside. Once they achieve CO, Phase 2 begins. |

We’re contracted to begin installing commercial doors & hardware in August for a new Science & Technology building at a major Tier-One (R1) public research university in Denton, TX — more than 230 doors and applicable hardware.
By the end of 2026, we’ll begin exterior door installations on a Student Life Complex at a private research university in Houston, TX, where we’ll install 278 commercial doors by mid-2027.
