This is the second e-news update for myhealthyherd member vets  helping you to to get the best from the myhealthyherd  program. The aim of these periodic emails is to provide you with top tips and guidance on the use of Myhealthyherd.
Last few places....BVD and Johne's one day courses
Johnes Training: Knutsford and Taunton April 24th and 26th
 Soren Nielsen is a key speaker at two one day training courses being run by Myhealthyherd and NMR. The purpose of these courses is to extend the knowledge of the Johne's champions within the practice. The course will focus on lessons learnt from the established Danish quarterly testing program, what has worked and what has not, practical examples of effective Johnes control combined with news of the new software developments from Myhealthyherd and NML.
The areas being covered are
  • Global update on Johnes control- Soren Nielsen
  • Progress with Johnes control in the UK- Hannah Pearse
  • Choosing the right Johne's control strategy Peter Orpin/ Dick Sibley
  • Update on "super shedders", passive shedding, testing and Danish Controls- Soren Nielsen
  • Demonstration of the MHH Robustness Control Plan checker
  • Workshops on practical control and new developments in recording

   BVD Training Course, 18th April, Somerset

 For A short day course in BVD management has been arranged by Healthy LIvestocka and Novartis focussing on how you can help your farmers progress their BVD control to the next stage.

A Deliverer Information Event has been arranged at Puxton Park, Somerset to explain the details of the Healthy Livestock approach to BVD and provide technical information from expert speakers for the prevention and control of BVD in dairy and beef herds . Please note that this course will be particularly valuable for vets already involved in the Healthy Livestock BVD work strand, but all vets interested in BVD are welcome.
