Myhealthyherd improved Johne's module
The Dairy Johne's Module has been revised. This particular module has been working for over 4 years and over that time science and the understanding of the disease has changed.

The key changes to the module relate to the risk and prevalence sections.

The key changes are:

•Colostrum risks are now introduced within the risk of entry section.

•Revised time scales for introduction of livestock complete with improved definitions of groups allowing for improved grading of risk of disease introduction

•Risk of spread section now includes an adult to adult risk area to demonstrate how cow to cow transmission may impact on the success of control

•An ability to use the risk of spread section as a risk review. If you use this every year you can check that the herd is on track to robust control

•The risk review section now provides a future prediction for the herd. If you can manage the risks the disease prevalence will decrease and this is now graphically illustrated within the prevalence predictor

•A robustness checker which helps score the control plan clearly illustrating Key Tasks for inclusion in the plan. Plans which may not work are now traffic lighted and scored

•The prevalence prediction graphs will be modified to reflect improved understanding of test sensitivities and likely true adult cow prevalence within the herd.

Myhealthyherd has become widely adopted as the best tool vets and farmers can use to make sure they are on track to robust control.

Now is a good time to review the risks on your herds!
