Registration is opening up
for the 2023-2024 school year!
This is for all returning students!
You will soon be receiving an email with your student’s Snap code. Follow the emailed link and please see the instructions and video below to help guide you through this process. It would help tremendously for your Proof of Residency to be uploaded to the Registration.
This can be done through taking a clear picture of the required document from the last 30 days. Thank you so very much!
Proof of residence for the same address requires a current document in the parent/guardian’s name going to that address.
The Proof of residence can be one of the following:
2. Cable or land line telephone bill addressed to the parent or guardian at the address being established as residence not past 30 days old.
Proof of residence for a change of address requires 2 current, valid documents as proofs of residence.
c. Current mortgage statement, or
d. Notarized letter from the property manager that must include the parent/guardian’s name.
b. Cable or land line telephone bill addressed to the parent or guardian at the address being established as residence not past 30 days old.
Students attending a school on a Shared Residence Affidavit must provide documentation annually. This packet can be found on Huntsvillecityschools.org

HHS Safety & Security Protocols
The safety and security of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors are extremely important to us. This past week, the Huntsville High School central courtyard was fenced in, thereby securing our two academic buildings. The fence we currently have is a temporary black vinyl fence that will precede a permanent fence made of brick and wrought iron. This ties the Freshman Academy to the main building, creating one security bubble for the increased safety and security of our campus. This eliminated the need for students to pass through the EVOLV weapons detectors after entry at the start of the day, with the exception being for weightlifting which occurs in the Sammons Athletic Center throughout the day.
Students, faculty, and staff enter the academic buildings through two sets of doors. These doors are located at the Freshman Academy. Parents, guardians, and visitors will have access to one set of doors to enter the campus for all purposes.
The two security entrances are:
Freshman Academy East - Bus Side Office Entrance (Students, Teachers Parents/Guardians, Visitors)
This is the main entrance to the campus, and it will be staffed from 7:30 am – 4:00 pm. At the start of the day, this entrance will be used by students, faculty, and staff to enter campus. Parents, guardians, and visitors may also use this entrance to enter campus.
This is where parents and guardians will go for check-in / check-out, to drop things off, and to enter the campus for meetings and appointments. Upon arrival at this entrance, parents and guardians will pass through the EVOLV weapons detector and receive a visitor's badge to be worn while on campus. Attendance aides will be present to escort visitors to their intended destination.
Freshman Academy West - Parking Lot Cafetorium Entrance (Students & Teachers Only)
This is an entrance to campus for students, faculty, and staff only and it will be staffed from 7:30 am – 4:00 pm. At the start of the day, we expect this to be a high-traffic point of entry. We will run this as a dual-lane entry. It is vital that students take their laptops out of their bookbags, held out in front as they enter the EVOLV weapons detector. This point of entry will be staffed by campus security throughout the day. Parents, guardians, and visitors may not use this as a point of entry to the campus.
Dismissal
The new courtyard fence is equipped with two exit gates. During dismissal, students are permitted to exit through the two courtyard fence gates rather than re-entering through the Freshman Academy.
HHS Main Office
In order to access the main office, parents, guardians, and visitors must park at the Freshman Academy and enter the Freshman Academy East entrance. Students are not to be dropped off at the main office – the only exception is for our students with the most exceptional special needs.
Making changes such as these can be stressful, but I would like to applaud our students, parents, guadians, faculty, and staff for their patience and cooperation as we work to ensure the continued safety of our campus.

The only gate to enter for student drop-off and pick-up is Gate 5. Gates 2 and 3 are reserved for buses.
No students or parents may enter Gate 2 or 3 in front of the Freshman Academy between 7:45 am – 9:00 am or 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm as this is the bus entry and exit.
Gates 1, 2, and 4 are always exit-only gates. |
