The Adult Literacy Department is looking for new volunteer tutors.

Come and celebrate all things egg-and-bunny-themed with us at our Easter Celebration at the library. There'll be stories for kids, a film, and the chance to take a picture with the Easter Bunny itself before taking part in an Easter Egg hunt to earn a prize!

Celebrate National Card and Letter Writing Month and join the letter-writing challenge!

This is a hands-on letter writing activity. Select from an assortment of fun stationery, then write and decorate your letter with us. Stationery, envelopes, pens, and decorations will be provided. All you need to bring is an address. We will stamp and mail your letter for you!

Senior Space
Every Wednesday from April 5th, 10 am -2 pm


Senior Space is a place for older adults to live, learn, and socialize through activities, classes and more!

Yoga, Art, Healthy Eating, Resources for Seniors- are a few of the offerings. Please refer to the flyer here for full details.

The library has partnered with Covenant Place, a Senior community in Plainfield, to offer a range of activities and socializing opportunities for older adults.

All activities are free, and crafts, classes, presentations and games are all part of the mix, alongside a chance to mingle with others.

Local Authors Showcase:
Rich Valvano and Poet Hubert Reeder

Saturday, April 22 at 1 pm in the ALD Room (lower level)

Join local author, Rich Valvano, who will discuss his book, "The Black Conservative: An American Hero." Also presenting is award-winning poet, Hubert Reeder, who will present his latest book of acclaimed poems, "Gate Found Four: Book Three." Learn more here.

2017 Annual Plainfield Photography Contest
Plainfield: Art, History, and Culture


Photographers should capture images that document the Queen City for future generations.

Scenes should depict the local artwork, history and culture of Plainfield.

Entry forms now available in the library and online.

Submission deadline is Saturday, September 30, 2017.
