Hours Change at the Library from April 1

Starting on April 1, 2019 the Library will be closing on Saturdays at 1:00PM (12:30PM in Children's). This change in hours is due to a proposed drastic cut to the Library's budget.

This minor schedule change is the first of what may be more significant reductions in the Library's hours of operation, staffing and services if the budget is passed in its current form.

You should let your City Council Representatives know how you are affected by the Saturday cut back of hours, as well as how you will be affected by the reduction of hours and services that will be required if the budget for the Library is passed in its current form.

Afternoon Films for Adults at the Library

If you're one of those who've already come in for one of our FREE MOVIES (yay!), well done - and if you haven't yet, hopefully we can tempt you out this month to come see a film right here in the library. Spring is pretty much sprung (the calendar tells us), so here are our Spring Selections for Tuesday afternoon films:

Green Book (2018): "A working-class Italian-American bouncer becomes the driver of an African-American classical pianist on a tour of venues through the 1960s American South." (IMDB) Starring Viggo Mortensen, Mahershala Ali, Linda Cardellini. Showing April 2nd at 1pm in ALD.

Aquaman (2018): "Arthur Curry, the human-born heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, goes on a quest to prevent a war between the worlds of ocean and land." (IMDB) Starring Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe. Showing April 16th at 1pm in ALD.

Many more films follow, so keep an eye on the billing and don't miss a chance to see your favorites on our big screen!

Memoir Writing Club
Thursday, April 11th
10:30am in Room 8 (lower level)

This month's optional writing topic is "birth order."

Are you one of our "oldest kids in the family?" How did your place in the family order affect your childhood? If anyone admits to having been spoiled as a kid, was it because of your place in birth order? Come to the April meeting and let us know.
Come and tell us all about it in April.

The Library's Memoir Writing Club offers members a comfortable forum for sharing stories of important events, friendships, and family history. Do you have memories that you would like to share? Come join the Memoir Writing Club. Before a session, participants write down their memories - creating a Memoir. During meetings, members share what they've written on a topic. At the end of each meeting the group chooses an optional topic for the next session, but individual members are free to write about whatever inspires them.
