Whether you spent the cold season improving your digital literacy in one of our computer classes, exploring your imagination at an arts and crafts event, making new friends at our book and memoir writing clubs, or finally reading the books you've been meaning to get to - we hope the Plainfield Public Library was able to keep you warm, learning, and entertained during the winter. |

Now, spring is finally blossoming and we are thrilled to welcome the new season with more opportunities to support local authors, spending time with family and friends, learning something new, embracing our creativity, and building a stronger and closer community. |

Library patrons of all ages got to spend their day learning, creating, and having fun as we enjoyed New Jersey STEM month and Make It Grow: A New Jersey Makers Day Event!
On Friday, March 21st, the Plainfield Library was buzzing as we welcomed spring by building mason bee houses!
Then, on Saturday, March 22nd, we:
* Made Self-Watering Plant Pots
* Planted Sunflower Seeds with the Union County 4-H Garden
Club
* Enjoyed a Pollinator Storytime for by Circle STEM
* Built a Bee Bots Maze
* And talked with Garden Experts including the Plainfield Community Garden Group and award-winning Gardener Samuel Campbell |
Whether you were building, planting, listening, or reading - there is no doubt that everyone was learning!
Plainfield Library gratefully acknowledges grant funding from New Jersey Makers’ Day & New Jersey STEM Pathways Network (NJSPN) for making a day like this happen. |

This year we are celebrating National Library Week by highlighting the members of our staff that make our library so special. From the circulation desk, to adult literacy, to the children's library, each of our departments function as the gears that keep our library running. Click below to learn just a little bit about the people that make our award winning library a center of cultural enrichment, information, and entertainment. |

You can also celebrate National Library Week with us by visiting our Children's Room and telling us why you love our library!

Dear patrons,
You may have heard that we're getting some work done. And while we're very excited to welcome you with all our improvements and updates - we know this can raise many questions for those of you that visit us often and depend on our services.
As of right now, we have no definite dates of closure. We will do our very best to keep you informed on closings and what services we are still providing during construction. |
