It's been a fantastic summer at the Plainfield Public Library! We’ve made dinosaur eggs, watched the World Cup together, held a dinosaur dance party, learned how stones can tell stories, received free eye exams, and more - and there’s still so much left to do! No matter what you're looking for this summer - the library is here for you.
With less than a month left of our Summer Reading Program, the children of Plainfield are working hard to update their reading logs. Our Adult Literacy Department is preparing for fall classes and continue to offer the labor and literacy lab to help job seekers. Our Local History Department is ready to help you with all research needs and is a proud partner of Revolution NJ. All our book shelves now feature displays put together by our library staff of new and familiar favorites. Take a stroll and find a new read!
You can continue to check out books, movies, and more on Libby and Hoopla - free with your Plainfield Library card. Your card grants you 24/7 remote access to these apps and dozens more at no cost.
Whether you’re joining our summer reading activities or simply enjoying a quiet place to relax, there’s something for everyone at the library this month.
We look forward to seeing you!

The August Read is The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek by Kim Michele Richardson. This novel features a pack-horse librarian in 1930s Appalachia-- who also happens to be one of the rare "Blues," a family with naturally blue skin.
While there will be spoilers, it's ok to attend even if you didn't finish the book!
Visit the Circulation Desk for a copy of the book or you can borrow it from another STELLA library.
PLEASE NOTE: the time for the Adult Book Club meetings has changed to 5:30-6:30 due to library hours change.
