The accomplished Florian Schantz Jazz Combo return to Plainfield Public Library for a free, festive-themed programme of Jazz music. Reindeer antlers and Santa hats are not obligatory, but the atmosphere will definitely be twinkly-yet-sophisticated. Join us for a musical warm-up for the holidays!

Help us reunite this note with its owner!

Sometimes we find things people have left behind in library books that they've used as bookmarks. We found one such recently and it seemed like something that its owners might be looking for.

Do you know a person who might have written a thank-you note back in 2011 that her Mom kept? The writer was 14 that year so it would make her 21 years old now. We don't know how old the cat depicted will be but it looks like it's cosy!

We'd like to reunite the note with its owner (and hopefully become part of the story about how the note was  nearly lost). Get in touch or find this story in our Facebook feed and leave a comment.

And remember - the Library is a great place to find  your story, whatever it may be!

If you know who this note might belong to, email: andrew.eason@plfdpl.info or call 908-757-1111 x139 or contribute in the Facebook post comments linked to above.
Afternoon Films for Adults at the Library

Our new season of afternoon movies continues with the film RED (2010), on December 4th, an action-comedy film starring Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker, Helen Mirren, and Karl Urban.

RED has been described as "An amusing, light-footed caper about a team of aging CIA veterans rudely forced out of retirement."  We'll follow-up with its sequel, RED 2 (2013) on December 18th.

Many more films follow, so keep an eye on the billing and don't miss a chance to see your favorites on our big screen!

NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) Events

The Library's perennial Monday Night Writes program continues on Mondays 10th and 17th of December, for aspiring and more experienced writers to share their progress.

Also this month a special "Read and Reflect: The End of NaNoWriMo" event will be hosted by the library on December 3rd, 7-8:30pm in Room 2, for anyone who wrote during the month and wanted to share a sample of their writing or to reflect on their experience.
