Teen Programming
for June
June will also bring a new series of programs for teens:
Coffee Cup Art on June 13th is a returning craft workshop that will use ordinary paper coffee cups to create interactive artworks that twist and turn.
Storymakers on June 20th is a workshop designed to help loosen up the imagination and provide tools to make storytelling easier and more creative. We'll use a variety of games and creative strategies to tell new stories in new ways.
Later in the month, we have two programs with a musical theme, reflecting this summer's
Libraries Rock theme:
On June 18th,
BandLab will introduce participants to an online Digital Audio Workstation - BandLab - that will allow users to create whole songs using the onboard sequencer, instruments and sampler.
We will offer a
Sonic Pi workshop on the 25th of June. Sonic Pi is a live coding musical application, which uses lines of code to create tunes , modify sounds and play samples. It's an interesting crossover between learning coding and making music.
Our
Youth Advisory Board session (6/17) is open to all 11-17 year olds with free pizza slices for student attendees.
You can also view the program posters for more information:
