The summer's getting into its stride now, and we're here, free and open to all and (this is important) we're
nice and cool inside!
If you're a grownup it's easy to feel like all the programs are for children this time of year, but
it ain't necessarily so- just check out our Adult Programs flyer below.
You'll find programs for adults all month long including an introduction to African-American genealogy, crafts programs, a special film screening, and more.
And the summer's a great time to pick up a book and just kick back for a bit - try our selection of books in all formats including ebooks and eAudiobooks - or glance through some of the many online streaming video offerings available through our Kanopy, Hoopla and Video on Demand apps - all completely free as part of the many databases and digital services the library offers free access to.
If you'd like to pick up some new skills (or you know someone who would), don't miss out on the chance to enrol in some of our classes for adults. You'll see information about signing up for upcoming computer classes below, but don't for get that our Adult Literacy department also offers all sorts of classes including GED, Citizenship and ESL classes - all free.
We can't wait to see you , and remember, all our programs are free, and everyone is welcome!

In
Unhappy Catastrophes: The American Revolution in Central New Jersey, 1776–1782, Robert M. Dunkerly follows the course of the war through its various phases and details lesser-known battles, military campsites, raids, espionage, and more. The book also includes historic sites to visit, markers, and websites for further research and study. This part of New Jersey saw more action during the Revolution than anywhere else in the young nation and has been called the Cockpit of the Revolution. To truly understand the war, look at central New Jersey.
Robert M. (Bert) Dunkerly is a historian, award-winning author, and speaker who is actively involved in historic preservation and research. He works as a park ranger at Richmond National Battlefield Park.
This program is cohosted with the Historical Society of Plainfield / Drake House Museum, a proud partner of Revolution NJ.
