June is the perfect time to kick off a season of reading and learning at the Library! As summer begins, we invite visitors of all ages to explore new books, attend exciting programs, and take advantage of all the resources our library has to offer - especially since we are finally reopening our doors!
Join us on Saturday, June 13th for our Grand Reopening! We can’t wait to welcome the community back to a refreshed and revitalized space built to better serve more learners than ever. We are also thrilled to kick off our Children’s Summer Reading Program this month with a bubble party and learn more about Plainfield’s past with a special Local History event.
Although our building remains closed for construction until our Grand Reopening, there's no shortage of exciting things happening at our library! Whether our doors are open or closed, you can continue to check out books, movies, and more on Libby and Hoopla - free with your Plainfield Library card. Your card grants you 24/7 remote access to these apps and dozens of online databases more at no cost. We are also offering curbside pickup for books, new library cards, and seeds to grow your own garden.
Whether you’re joining our summer reading activities, discovering your next favorite author, or simply enjoying a quiet place to relax, there’s something for everyone at the library this month. We look forward to seeing you!

After months of transformative renovations, the Plainfield Public Library will host a Grand Reopening Celebration on Saturday, June 13!
We invite all members of the community to come and rediscover our new space built for connection, learning, and opportunity.
The ribbon-cutting celebration will begin at 12:00 PM and include self-guided tours highlighting the Library's new features, remarks from public officials, live music, giveaways, and more!
