Featuring:
Daughter of Fortune by Isabel Allende
Wednesday, March 26, 7-8:30pm, in Room 2
From the Goodreads description of
Daughter of Fortune:
"Orphaned at birth, Eliza Sommers is raised in the British colony of ValparaÃso, Chile, by the well-intentioned Victorian spinster Miss Rose and her more rigid brother Jeremy. Just as she meets and falls in love with the wildly inappropriate JoaquÃn Andieta, a lowly clerk who works for Jeremy, gold is discovered in the hills of northern California. By 1849, Chileans of every stripe have fallen prey to feverish dreams of wealth. JoaquÃn takes off for San Francisco to seek his fortune, and Eliza, pregnant with his child, decides to follow him."

Did You Know - Plainfield Public Library has a thriving Passport Acceptance Facility?
There's a Passport Acceptance Facility located right here conveniently situated in the library. That means you can submit passport applications directly to the Department of State with the help of our trained Passport Acceptance Agents. We are officially approved as a Department-of-State regulated Passport Acceptance Facility, which means you can depend on the help of our agents to get you the right forms and help speed your application on its way.
Because we make time to complete appointments properly, and so that we can contact every visitor beforehand to make sure that they have everything they'll need for a worthwhile appointment, we don't take walk-ins. Passport applications are by appointment only. But the good news is that you can do this online via the links on the library's passport services page. If you have questions about the service, you can also leave a message for us at 908-757-1111 ext. 110. (Habla español).
Get in touch with us to make your appointment, and check out the information on the flyers below! |
