From the Desk of the Director...

Library Director Mary Ellen Rogan

The Library is beginning to feel like normal again. Familiar faces working on computers and laptops, classes in the computer labs and in-house activities for the kids. During Spring Break the First Responders of Plainfield hosted for us a weeklong schedule of events, games, informational sessions and snacks for the school children. A good time was had by all and we look forward to partnering with our city’s first responders again during the year.

On May 9th the schools have early dismissal and we are having our first post-COVID movie event, Encanto. This is a wonderful family movie and I hope to see many of you here in the Library enjoying the program.

Our computer classes have resumed in the labs. In addition, we also have open lab for help with job searches, resumes other computer related topics. Please stop in, you will find our instructors knowledgeable and willing to help.

Summer Reading is almost upon us and the theme is “Oceans of Possibilities”. Look for the Summer Reading calendar and our announcements of programming and events. With oceans and sea life as the theme, be prepared to see some aquatic animals in the Library!

Until next month, join us- there’s a lot going on at the Library!
