May 2025
In April, the Plainfield Public Library was full of fun and information!
To name just a few of the projects that kept us busy: We welcomed a Community Seed Library to our neighborhood, celebrated National
Poetry Month with workshops that brought out the best and brightest of poets from every age group and experience level, learned how hypnosis can reduce stress levels, grew our knowledge of the American Revolution, laughed and cried with The Lorax, got to know our library workers better for National Library Week, thanked our volunteers for National Volunteer Week, and so much more!
The month of May brings new books, new visitors, new programs, and more - Keep reading so you don't miss out!
Come enjoy all that the library has to offer! Of course, we have books - but did you know we also have classes and programming for everyone of any age?

April showers bring May flowers, but the seeds have to be planted first!

On Friday, April 11th library patrons of all ages came out to welcome our Community Seed Library.

The Seed Library is currently located on the main floor. Stop by to pick up your seeds and start planting your dream garden today!

This year we are celebrating National Library Week by highlighting the members of our staff that make our library so special. From the circulation desk, to adult literacy, to the children's library, each of our departments function as the gears that keep our library running. Click the image above to learn just a little bit about the people that make our award winning library a center of cultural enrichment, information, and entertainment.
In celebration of National Volunteer Week, we highlighted some of our volunteers to thank them for donating their time, knowledge, and talents. Our volunteers have changed the lives of many community members. They have helped provide many of the services that make our library the place it is by assisting people working towards their GED, making many American dreams come true by tutoring those studying for their citizenship test, archiving historical documents so they can be studied decades from now, boosting the computer confidence of countless students, and more! Click the image above to learn just a little bit about them!
Dear Patrons,

You may have heard that we're getting some work done. And while we're very excited to welcome you with all our improvements and updates - we know this can raise many questions for those of you that visit us often and depend on our services.

As of right now, we have no definite dates of closure. We will do our very best to keep you informed on closings and what services we are still providing during construction.
