Recent Donations to the Local History Department

We recently received some wonderful donations and extend our thanks to the generous donors. Some highlights:

  • A large collection of historical photographs, vintage postcards, ephemera, and other artifacts - many of which were used in his book, Plainfield (co-authored with Dorothy Pollard), donated by author John A. Grady. We hope to present some of the postcards in a display this summer.
  • Vintage postcard collection from the early 1900s, donated by Laura Stevens.
  • "The Plainfields Jingle" 45 rpm record, donated by Scott Lawson.
  • Slides from Plainfield's Spade & Trowel Club, donated by Cathy Clark.

The Local History Department gratefully accepts these recent donations into our collections. Most donations are made by current or former Plainfield residents and organizations. For more information about how to make a donation, please contact the Local History Department.
