New Ways To Support Your Public Library

The end of the year is the time when many make their charitable contributions. Online donations can now be made to the Plainfield Public Library through our website.

A “Donate” button is located on the bottom right of the page. It allows you to make confidential donations via credit card or PayPal. Donations may be made for general support or for the support of specific services, such as Adult Literacy, Local History, or the Children’s Library. Memorial donations are a meaningful way to recognize the memory of someone who has recently passed.

Tickets to special events that are sponsored by the Library or the Friends of the Library can also be purchased online.

You may have heard that Governor Christie signed into law a bill that will allow New Jersey taxpayers to make voluntary contributions to public libraries on their NJ tax forms. This will not take effect until 2016, when it will apply to 2015 taxes. We will share more information about this next year.

Last year library patrons also donated 752 items food items, a total of 837 pounds. See details on the flier below.

Digital Design Studio

The Digital Design Studio is a Makerspace project funded in part by a grant from LibraryLinkNJ and the New Jersey State Library. The studio equipment consists of a Wacom Cintiq 24HD Creative Pen Display and a HP DesignJet T2500PS 36" scanner/printer. Software packages include Corel Draw, Painter, Cad 2014, Photo Video Suite, and Motion Studio 3D. Art Students & Instructors, Professional and Emerging Fine Artists, Design Artists, Draftsmen, and Crafts Artists are welcome to attend open lab hours, schedule individual appointments, and attend classes.

The schedule is available on our Computer Training page. Nonprofit organizations and government agencies are able to take advantage of the large-format printer to print posters and marketing materials at a reduced cost.
