The Best of Plainfield: People, Places, and Things
Exhibition Opening Reception and Awards Presentation
Saturday, November 12, 2016
10 am to Noon, Anne Louise Davis Room
The Plainfield Public Library announces its 11th Annual Plainfield Photography Contest
Exhibition with a reception and awards. This year’s theme is, “
The Best of Plainfield:
People, Places, and Things.” The images present people, places, and things that the
photographers view as important in documenting the Queen City for future generations.
The 2016 competition met with the enthusiastic response of 23 contributors who
submitted 91 images of Plainfield. The photographs help build our local photograph
collection. All entries have been digitized and added to the Library's historical photograph
archive, which consists of over 50,000 area photographs taken from 1865 to date. Winning photographs and selected entries will be on exhibit through December 31, 2016.
Images from the first ten exhibits may be found at:
http://www.plainfieldlibrary.info/Departments/LH/LH_photocontests.html
The reception and exhibit are open and free to the public.
