This year marks the occasion of Plainfield Public Library becoming a Book Sanctuary. A Book Sanctuary is a place - it can be a library or somewhere else - which has made a determination to support the right to read books, even when others may be calling for the books' suppression. November days can be clear and crisp, and as the evenings draw in, we're warm and bright...
Don't let the end of summertime get you down- we've got lots going on at the library to keep you out and about, meeting folks and having fun. Our free Jazz Concert on November 6th looks set to be a great evening out, with great music provided by the James Austin Jr. trio, sharing the songs of Stevie Wonder in Jazz form.
Lots of you have been enjoying our Book Club for Adults, this month talking about
The Painted Drum by Louise Ehrdrich. Members meet up and chat about this month's book or what they've been reading, together; it's free and very welcoming to new member - and you don't need to have read the book they're currently discussing.
That's just some of what we've got going on programs-wise for you this November; do check in on our Live calendar for the full run-down and check out more highlights below.

As you can see they've now got fully into the sweater weather thing and are ready to attend lots of fun fall programs (or, y'know, they would be if they weren't
an amphibian wearing a turtleneck). Come and join us for some of our super fun November shenanigans:
► There's still time to join in with our Girls who Code Club, meeting on Tuesdays, 4-5:45pm (Girls grades 3-5 & 6-12)
► Join this month's Paint On! to get creative with autumnal gourds, leaves and more. (Ages 9-Adult, 11/6)
► show off your videogaming skills at our Video Game Hangout (Tweens and Teens, snacks 11/7) - which will also include a meetup for parents of of neurodiverse & autistic kids in the adjacent room 1
►Tea Tasting: come and taste a spectrum of herbal brews and figure out your selection for Best Tea in the World (Tweens, teens and adults, 11/21)
