From the Desk of the Director...
My favorite time of year has arrived and so much is happening here at the library. A special guest is coming to lead our annual Halloween parade. The kids can display their costumes with a march around the pool, get treats from our staff, and pose for pictures with the surprise guest. The Local History Department has two special Halloween events: “Is My House Haunted?” and “Burial Rites & Wrongs: Preventing the Creation of the Undead”. Each is guaranteed to be an interesting Halloween treat. Register now!
Not only are there tons of Halloween programs for everyone, we have also launched a Book Club. It's getting some positive interest so please come and join the fun. Let’s not forget our popular Adult Craft Night. Our staff has some great projects scheduled and the reservations are filling up! You can make a gift for holiday giving or just create something to enjoy yourself.
There are also tons of activities for teens to choose from including games, crafts, and information about the college application process.
We are coming to the close of Hispanic Heritage Month and there are still activities at the library. Please look into our offerings.
As always, we love to see you at the library!

Saturday, October 7, 2023
10:30AM via Zoom
Register: www.tinyurl.com/PPLHist2310
From ancient practices to modern day funerals, superstitions and customs abound when it comes to inhumation or interment. Whether one is buried six feet under or above ground in a crypt or mausoleum, learn the best practices for burying a corpse and protecting it from turning into a vampire or other revenant.
Covered in this macabre presentation are the differences of the undead such as zombies, vampires, ghouls and windigos. Catacombs, Hell Hounds and Doppelsaugers, oh my! If you're into the creepy afterlife, you'll really dig this!
