This year marks the occasion of Plainfield Public Library becoming a Book Sanctuary. A Book Sanctuary is a place  - it can be a library or somewhere else - which has made a determination to support the right to read books, even when others may be calling for the books' suppression. If you do not wish to receive any more emails, you can unsubscribe here.

Welcome to the season of cozy reads!

It's finally fall and the summer weather has cooled down. It's time for autumn leaves, warm drinks, warm clothes and getting ready to get cozy.

It is prime time for nestling up with a book and being transported away in your imagination for an adventure while you're curled up with your fave sweater on. As you'd expect, we've got you covered with fiction genres from Dragons to Duchesses and beyond! (And if you reckon you've found the  perfect book, come along to our Adult Book Club and share! New members are super welcome and you don't need to have read the book they're currently discussing.)

Come in for a browse
around our stacks and be surprised by a hidden gem, or check out some of our several streaming and download options like Libby, Hoopla and Kanopy to get new reads, listens and watching options from the comfort of your snug nook.

Did Someone Say "Boo!"?

The world is full of pumpkins and skeletons and candy and ghost stories - and kids dressed up as all sorts of ghouls and monsters and superheroes and creepy characters are roaming the streets of Plainfield! What can it all mean? (Halloween, of course!)

We've got lots of seasonal fun and games to augment your haunting schedule with this month with a range of fun crafts (for Adults, too!), presentations and reasons to come and mingle with the great and the ghoulish all month long - not forgetting the culmination of the Children's Library's Spooky Week fun with our annual kids' Halloween Parade featuring our pal Bluey
