One For The Money
By Janet Evanovich

Meet Stephanie Plum, a bounty hunter with attitude.

Out of work and out of money, Stephanie blackmails her bail-bondsman cousin Vinnie into giving her a try as an apprehension agent. Stephanie knows zilch about the job requirements, but she figures her new pal, el-primo bounty hunter Ranger, can teach her what it takes to catch a crook.

Her first nail is Joe Morelli, a former vice cop on the run from a charge of murder. Just her luck, it turns out Morelli and Stephanie have a heated past. There’s still powerful chemistry between them, so the chase should be interesting…and could also be extremely dangerous.

Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to honor and celebrate the vibrant contributions of the Hispanic and Latinx community to America's culture, the arts, and - of course - literature. From poetry to fiction, memoirs to magical realism, Hispanic authors have enriched the literary world with their unique voices, perspectives, and stories.

This year, we’re shining a spotlight on emerging and lesser-known Hispanic and Latinx authors who are bringing fresh, powerful voices to fiction, poetry, memoirs, and more on our social media. These new books offer unique perspectives, challenge assumptions, and help expand our understanding of the world - one story at a time.

This month, stop by our display - located near our entrance - or ask a librarian for recommendations and explore something new. Supporting these authors means amplifying voices that deserve to be heard all year long.

Celebrate the Freedom to Read

Banned Books Week is a time to spotlight stories that have been challenged or censored and to stand up for the freedom to read, think, and explore diverse ideas. Books open minds, spark dialogue, and reflect the many voices that shape our world.

That's why on June 27, 2024, the Plainfield Public Library Board of Trustees voted to designate the Plainfield Public Library as
a Book Sanctuary. We are committed now more than ever to being a safe space where all stories are protected and every reader has the right to access information without fear or restriction. By defending books that face bans, we defend our shared right to learn, grow, and connect through literature.

Join us in celebrating the power of books - especially the ones someone didn’t want you to read.

Big things are coming to our library!

We’re excited for our upcoming renovations that will greatly improve our Library. Get ready for fresh spaces, modern designs, and new features that will make your reading, learning, and community experiences even better.

In order to bring this vision to life, we expect to close for construction beginning Monday, October 13 with a possible reopening date of December 1st. Please check our website for further updates or changes.
