Adult Programs for September

Misinformation and AI

As well as the Local History programs above we have some additional Adult events planned. Check out our flyers below or head on over to our online calendar.

Misinformation and A.I. - Join Librarian Erik Stevenson as he discusses how to deal with misinformation and emerging A.I. This talk will raise such questions as - Will A.I. destroy us? Will we be flooded by (mis)information? What is coming next? This is a fast moving field, come join us for an overview and help form the ongoing conversation about this important new development.

Become an Informed Voter - On the 20th in collaboration with the League of Women Voters of Plainfield and Union County Board of Elections you can find out more about how the voting process works, meet the Board of Education candidates, register to vote & check out a voting machine. You'll also be able to work with the facilitators to register to vote.

We're also starting up a NEW Adult Book Club. This first meeting will be an organizing meeting to figure out what we want to read and other other details to help us have a fun and fascinating club together. Do come along and help us get it going, because  we absolutely positively cannot do it without you!  For more information on these or any other programs, please call 908-747-111 ex. 112 or email ref@plfdpl.info

Teen Programs for September

Ah, summer has been golden but nothing gold can stay, eh? To top it off everyone is yelling about 'back to school'. (Sorry about that...) May we humbly offer the following programs and activities to lead you into this season of mists and mellow fruitfulness (that also happens to feature going back to school)?

You'll be able to show your creative side with one of our popular kindness rocks painting activities on the 6th, hang out and play some video games on the 9th, or code up a flappy flying game in our hour of code on the 21st.

Our Anime Club is showing another anime movie - One Piece: Red, on the 22nd, so look out for that, and you can also come and dye some fabric the color of your choice using ...Kool-Aid??? on the 28th. (Some of our programs can also host interested adults but please be sure to check our calendar for full details, as some are just for teens and tweens.)
