Welcome to NFL Picks Week 1!
Our favorite sport is back and you are receiving this weekly newsletter that will have all the picks in advance of kickoff. This is our third year of officially testing the MPI prediction algorithm and we are doing great. We won the World Series of Handicapping contest last year, came in third at the mock Super Contest at The RX Forum, and ranked #3 overall at the Sports Watch Monitor.
Why the success? The mental game silly! Knowing how well teams are performing mentally is what we do, and this advance info combined with historical research and hundreds of statistical studies puts us on the top.
Let's get right to the picks for week 1:
In the first game on Thursday night football, we correctly predicted that the Chiefs (-8.5, -110, Jazz Live) would cover against the Texans at home. So our record for 2020 is 1-0 and the overall record is now 113-79-12 (58.85%, +2591) in picking sides against a spread.
Here are the 5 remaining games we picked this week:
On Sunday:
Pick the Patriots (-6.5, -110, YouWagerLive) to cover against the Dolphins at home.
Pick the Bills (-6.5, -110, Jazz Live) to cover against the Jets at home.
Pick the Seahawks (-1.5, -110, Jazz Live) to cover against the Falcons on the road.
Pick the Eagles (-6, -110, YouWagerLive) to cover against the Washington Football Team (that name is so weird) on the road.
On Monday:
Take the Steelers (-5, -11-, Jazz Live) to cover against the Giants on the road.
Of these 5 picks, I like them all with the exception of the Patriots pick. I made this pick based on metrics early in the week, and I have to stick with it, but I am really beginning to think that the Dolphins will cover now. So take that one with caution!
