I recently wrote what I considered a thoughtful article about the Serena Williams debacle at the 2018 US Open. If you did not read it yet, I am listing the link below this text. In this article, I bent over backwards to be extremely fair to Serena and to praise her greatly, but also to make my point that she should apologize for what happened. The feedback on the article was remarkably positive. My good friend and pro football Hall of Fame broadcaster Lesely Visser called it "brilliant" and many others echoed the same sentiment. There has not been one negative comment, but I am sure there will be some as there always are.
In attempting to get this article out to many thousands, I purchased an ad from Facebook to boost the post. It was initially approved, but soon I also got a message from Facebook saying that my ad was inappropriate and/or negative, and that as a result, they will send it out to many fewer readers than they would have. Instead of getting it to 10 to 20,000 send outs so far, they have only sent it out to a couple hundred.
Can you believe this? I always heard about Facebook censorship, but never experienced it directly unitl now. Here is the article and see for yourself if I was too hard on Serena or if I said anything at all that was even remotely politically charged or negative or against proper protocol. I stated facts.
