  NFL PICKS FOR WEEK 2

We already have one win this week, as we selected the Bengals to cover on Thursday night against the Browns, and they did so in an exciting backdoor cover scenario led by future superstar quarterback Joe Burrow!

So we are off to a sterling 6-1 start, our fastest start so far in picking against the spread, but I still have serious concerns this week. First, weeks 1 and 2 are always the hardest to predict, and second, I may have been a little ambitious in picking 9 total teams to cover. We got one right so far, but it is usually a very bad idea to pick so many games. I loved the metrics on all of these games, however, so I went for it even if it was a little bit of a dice roll!

Here are the remaining 8 picks:

Take the Giants +6 away (-107, 5 Dimes Live) to cover against the Bears. I can live with this pick.

Take the Packers -6 home (-105, 5 Dimes Live) to cover against the Lions. I like this pick.

Take the Bills -5.5 away (-105, 5 Dimes Live) to cover against the Dolphins. I hate this pick and think the Dolphins might even win. Since making this pick earlier in the week, the Bills confirmed two starting linebacks out, so Fitz-magic might have a field day dinking and dunking on offense, and keeping it close enough to thwart the Bills cover.

Take the 49ers -6.5 away (-115, Jazz Live) to cover against the Jets. I like this pick a lot. It should be a Sunday Bloody Sunday massacre for the 49ers running attack led by Mostert.

Take the Cardinals -6.5 home (-105, 5 Dimes Live) to cover against the Washington "No-Names" Football Team. I love this pick. Kyler Murray is a future Tom Brady, and I naturally like his last name!

Take the Ravens -6.5 away (-120, 5 Dimes Live) to cover against the Texans. This Ravens team and Lamar Jackson are so explosive, and I would not be surprised if the Ravens win by 20.

Take the powerful Chiefs -8.5 away (-102, 5 Dimes Live) to cover against the Chargers.

Finally, on Monday Night Football, take the Saints -5.5 away (-117, 5 Dimes Live) to cover against the Raiders in their Vegas home opener. Viva Las Vegas ... but Saints Go Marching In!

Remember ... Last year was phenomenal as MPI infused picks allowed us to win the World Series of Handicapping and so much more. Our
overall record on picking sides against a known line is now 118 - 80 - 15 (59.60%, +2981) and we are already ranked #2 in the world in NFL football on the Sports Watch Monitor.

If you do not know why I am doing all this with football, you must have only come on the scene recently. Here is the logic. I invented the first ever measure of a football team's mental performance and wrote a book about it in 2011, and revised it in 2013. The statistic and the book name is "The Mental Performance Index" or MPI for short. From 2013 to 2018 I converted this wonderful and insightful measure into an algorithm to predict games, thus showing the entire world the value of the mental game!

The argument is that if I have success predicting games using this metric (which I clearly am having!), then it means that there is something important that I am privvy to ... mental performance ... and others are not capturing it nearly as well as the MPI.

We win, the mental game wins, and coaches and players are forced to see this success and evolve. Evolution means respecting the mental game much more, training players and coaches with proper sports psychology, and teaching players to be their best mentally. That is what I already have been doing for over 20 years in my day job!
