King & Bear Tournament Results
A full field of 236 golfers from Virginia and surrounding states competed in the 6th Annual King & Bear Tournament on November 11th and 12th.  This was a two person team event with each team completing one round on Palmer (The King) and one on Nicklaus (The Bear).  Despite cool temperatures and challenging winds, the scores were very good and several Bay Creek members took home prizes.  Chris Haberman and guest Benji Boscolo shot 153 to win the Third Flight.  Adam Wells and Joe Restein finished fourth in the Championship Flight.  Steve Rosser and guest Pete Johnson were third in the First Flight.  Bill Stramm and Rusty Gates got third in the Second Flight and Mark Riddle and guest Jim Brokenik finished second in the Fifth Flight.  Congratulations to all!

2017 Hunting Season Continues
Bay Creek South has scheduled an organized dear kill again this year to coincide with the permitted hunt season which continues until the first week of January. The hunt will take place on lands owned by Bay Creek South in the same manner as the hunt that was conducted last year. The hunters will be shooting downward from elevated deer stands on Bay Creek South property only and not near homes or on Association property. The safety of owners is the priority with the hunters, all of whom are licensed and experienced. Nonetheless, please exercise caution and avoid walking through areas that are not part of the Association’s Common Area during this period.

Nicklaus Cup Update
Haberman and Dunham Advance to Final
Chris Haberman defeated Ron Mathews and Garrett Dunham got past Bill Howat to advance to the final match of the 2017 Nicklaus Cup Match Play Championship.

BodyStretch Class
Please join us for BodyStretch  on Tuesday mornings, December 5th, 12th and 19th all at 9:00am at the Beach Club. There will be no BodyStretch class on December 26th.  This class combines light calesthenics (no jumping) with basic stretches and simple movements from Yoga, Pilates and the Titleist Performance Insititue for a fun and challenging experience for Members of all ages and fitness levels. There is no charge for members, your guests are welcome to pay a Guest fee and join in.

Homeowners Association News
Project Planning
The Board voted to accept the proposal from Simpson Tree Service for the removal of up to 433 trees whose roots are damaging streets and roads in Bay Creek and  to accept the bid from Turner Sculptures to clean and polish the Father’s Legacy and Heron Pointe sculptures.

Voting Members for 2018
The Fairways Neighborhood Association elected Brad Whitfield as Voting Member for 2018 with Sally Pitts as Alternate.
None of the other neighborhoods had a quorum so the Board appointed the slate below at the November 4th Board of Directors meeting:

December Hours and Schedule
Golf Shop
The first tee time every day in December will be 8:00am on Nicklaus and 8:05am on Palmer. The Golf Shop opens at 7:30am. One course will be reserved for Member play until 11:00am each day; your guests are welcome to join you on the Member Course.  The Golf Shop will be closed on Christmas Day.  For more information or to make tee time reservations, please call the Golf Shop at 331-8620 or Book Online.
Beach Club
The Fitness Club and the Member Lounge will be open from 7:00am to 7:00pm every day in the month of December, except for Christmas Eve when the Club will close at 2:00pm and Christmas Day when the Beach Club will be closed all day.
Coach House Tavern
The Tavern serves Breakfast and Lunch every day in November along with Brunch on Sunday. Through the winter months, dinner will be served on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday evenings each week. Surf & Turf is offered on Fridays and Saturdays along with fresh seafood and rotating specials. Italian Night continues on Monday evenings. The Tavern will close at 2:00pm on Christmas Eve and will remain closed on Christmas Day.  Please phone the Tavern at 331-8630 to place carryout orders or to make a dinner reservation.

Arnold Palmer, standing, and his grandson Sam Saunders line up their putt on the 18th hole during the second day of the Del Webb Father/Son Challenge golf tournament in Orlando, Fla., Sunday, December 2, 2007. They finished the event with a two-round score of 18-under-par 126.
