Spring Member-Member Results
Rusty Gates and Fur Robbins shot 75 to win the Gross Division of the Spring Member-Member by two strokes over Dave Baudoin and Bob O'Brien on May 19 on the Nicklaus course. The Chapman format was used - both players teed off, hit each other's second shot then alternated in from that point. Adam Wells and Bob Smith won Low Net with Bob Kraly and Ron Matthews in second place. Close to Pin contests were won by Tom Stauffer (No. 4), Adam Wells (No. 6) and Vance Phillips (Nos. 12 & 15).

Bay Creek Water to be Shut Off on Monday
Coach House Tavern Closes at 5:00pm on June 4
VDOT will be connecting a new water main as part of the Old Cape Charles Road renovation project and water will be shut off to the south section of Bay Creek beginning at 7:00pm. Work should be complete and water service restored in about six hours. The Coach House Tavern will close at 5:00pm and the Beach Club will close at 7:00pm. Normal hours will resume on Tuesday, June 5.

Sunday Golf Scrambles
Every Sunday at 4:00pm
Join the Fun! Open to all Members and their Guests, we play nine holes and many stay to eat dinner together afterward in the Tavern. Golfers of all skill levels are welcome including beginners! The Golf Shop makes the pairings to equalize the teams as much as possible. This is a great way to meet other members and just have fun! If only one person in your family plays golf, the others can join for dinner. Please stop by or call the Golf Shop at 757-331-8623 to sign up, you don't have to play every week to participate.

Titleist Fitting Day
Saturday, June 9, 11:00am - 3:00pm
Titleist Fitter Matthew Lombardo will visit Bay Creek with his Trackman to fit for Titleist Golf Clubs, including the amazing new AP1, AP2 & AP3 irons, 818 hybrids, Vokey Wedges and on and on. We have appointments available in 1/2 hour blocks. Call the Golf Shop at 757.331.8620 or e-mail Joe Burbee for an appointment. Trackman is a state of the art radar that gives an incredible amount of information about your golf shots, and is the best tool for fitting. If you have time, this is an excellent opportunity to take advantage of this technology and improve your game!

Nicklaus Cup Match Play Championship
Brackets Update
The 2018 Nicklaus Cup, a season long match play tournament, is underway. The Champion will receive the traditional shadowbox and personal parking space, with gift cards paid out to those reaching the quarterfinals or higher. Matches may be played on either the Palmer or Nicklaus course. View the Brackets Here.

Bay Creek Ladies League
The Ladies League plays every Thursday morning at 9:00am through October 5. It's not too late to join in! There is a $30 League fee, please make checks payable to the Bay Creek Ladies League and drop off in the Golf Shop.

BodyStretch Class
Please join us for our weekly BodyStretch Class every Tuesday morning in June at 9:00am at the Beach Club. This class combines light calesthenics (no jumping) with basic stretches and simple movements from Yoga, Pilates and the Titleist Performance Institute for a FUN and effective workout for Members of all ages and fitness levels. There is no charge for members, your guests are welcome to pay a Guest fee and join in. You do not have to attend every week to participate.

Pine Tree Removal Complete
Simpson's Tree Service completed work that began in late January to remove the loblolly pines that were damaging the asphalt on Bay Creek Parkway and Arnold Palmer Drive. A total of 445 trees, 12 more than specified in the orginal contract, were taken down. In the next phase, the Association will begin reviewing a road resurfacing plan.

Tennis Court Resurfacing
Chesapeake Tennis has completed the repair and resurfacing of our tennis courts. The Bay Creek Tennis community is growing! If you are interested in learning more about playing tennis at Bay Creek, please email Katie Gerecke. Players of all skill levels are welcome and clinics are being planned for beginners. Save the Date → A Tennis Social is planned for July 7th and 8th!

Cracks were filled and low spots leveled before the new playing surface was applied.

Stripes for Tennis and Pickleball were painted on the finished courts and new nets were installed.

June Hours and Schedule
Golf Shop
The first tee time every day in June will be 7:00am on Nicklaus and 7:05am on Palmer. The Golf Shop opens at 6:30am. For more information or to make tee time reservations, please call the Golf Shop at 331.8620 or Book Online.
Beach Club
The Fitness Club, Lounge and pools are open from 6:30am until 8:00pm Monday through Saturday and 7:00am until 8:00pm on Sunday.
Coach House Tavern
The Tavern serves Breakfast and Lunch and Dinner every day in June along with Brunch on Sunday. We are staying open until 10:00pm for dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings this summer. Surf & Turf Dinners are offered on Fridays and Saturdays along with fresh seafood and rotating specials. Italian Night continues on Monday evenings. Please phone the Tavern at 331.8630 to place carryout orders or to make a dinner reservation.

Faldo Recalls the King and Bear
Nick Faldo was the Memorial Tournament honoree two years ago, and he was touched by watching Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer sitting next to each in the clubhouse, with Nicklaus making sure Palmer was doing okay. Faldo described it as a sweet moment between two of the most revered figures in golf. And then he saw the competitive side of the two rivals.
"Arnold looks out the window and says, 'Hey, Jack, it looks pretty green out there. I've never seen this place looking so green,'" Faldo said. "And Jack goes straight into it: 'We built a brand new clubhouse. We're serving Jack Nicklaus wine. We've got Jack Nicklaus outerwear. We've got Jack Nicklaus sunglasses. We've got Jack Nicklaus ice cream.' And a waiter comes over and says to Arnold, 'Sir, can I get you a drink?'
"Arnold looks straight at Jack and says, 'I'll have an Arnold Palmer.'"
