The Wisdom of Jack Nicklaus
With eighteen professional major championships, two U.S. Amateurs and eight senior majors, Mr. Nicklaus is the all-time greatest champion in golf.  Below are some of his most enduring words and a few of his favorite tips that may help your game.
I hold the club fairly loosely, but just before starting back, I press my hands together on the grip once or twice.  I call this a "stationary press."
I believe the Ryder Cup is an exhibition by some of the best golfers in the world, great entertainment and an exercise in sportsmanship, camaraderie and goodwill.  The individual performances, good or bad, don't determine who the best players in the world are.  Nor does the side that happens to win determine on what side of the Atlantic the best golf is played.  Too many people believe otherwise, and that helps make the matches too contentious among the teams and their fans.
I always like to have a couple of short par 4s on my courses.  They create variety and make the golfer think.

Palmer and Nicklaus Win Team Championship
On December 10, 1966, two of golf’s biggest icons teamed up for the PGA National Team Championship in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.  It was the first time Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer played as a team, and boy did it work. The pair put together rounds of 63, 66, 63 and 64 to post an incredible total of 256 which left them 32-under-par for the tournament.  They claimed the $50,000 prize money and with it held the record for lowest score to par the tournament had ever seen.  At the time, the pair had 14 major championship wins between them. Nicklaus and Palmer also won the event together in 1970 and 1971.  Before the tournament Arnold said,  "I don't think either Jack or I would have (decided to come and play together) if we didn't think we had a chance to win. Our plan is to win. If we don't we'll just get on with our lives, and try it again somewhere else."

Palmer and Nicklaus set the scoring record in winning the 1966 PGA National Team Championship
