Shotgun Start on Thanksgiving
Thursday, November 28
Get your Turkey Day off to a fun and healthy start. Join us for a 9:00am Shotgun Start. No tournament, just play for fun and get home in plenty of time for Thanksgiving Dinner. Call the Golf Shop at 331-8620 to reserve your spot. The Golf Shop, Tavern and Beach Club will all close at 2:00pm on Thanksgiving Day. Please schedule your tee time or workout accordingly.

Ladies League News
The Ladies League celebrated the end of their season by coming together at the Coach House Tavern on October 3 for a luncheon followed by golf on the Palmer course. In 2019, the League had 29 members who hosted a very successful Bay Creek Ladies Invitational and supported the Riverside Shore Memorial Cancer Care fund and the the Northampton Education Foundation with generous monetary donations. The 2019 Club Champion is Kim Lenhardt and Senior Club Champion is Gail Edwards. Gail, Kim and Evie Odom had eagles this year and 16 members had anywhere from 1 to 17 birdies throughout the season. 100% had fun!

Fall Member-Member Tournament
Jake Savage & Joe Restein shot 61 to win the Gross division of the Fall Member-Member on October 19th and Bob Kraly & Lee Robbins won the Net division. It was a perfect day, the course was in great shape and a delicious lunch was served in the Tavern after play. Vance Phillips & Terry White took second Gross while Rusty Gates & Mike Holvick were second Net. Bob O'Brien (Nos. 4 and 7), Joe Restien (No. 12) and Bob Smith (No. 15) won the Close to Pin contests.

2019 Hunting Season Underway
Bay Creek South has arranged for an organized dear hunt again this year to coincide with the permitted season which continues until the first week of January. The hunt will take place on lands owned by Bay Creek South in the same manner as it was conducted in the past. The hunters will be shooting downward from elevated deer stands on Bay Creek South property only and not near homes or on Association property. The safety of owners and members is the priority with the hunters, all of whom are licensed and experienced. Nonetheless, please exercise caution and avoid walking through areas that are not part of the Association’s Common Area during this period.

Ace Makers
Phillips, Baudoin and Williams score HIOs
Vance Phillips used a Pitching Wedge from 112 yards to ace the 4th hole on the Nicklaus Course on September 21. Dave Baudoin had his first hole in one on October 4 on the 12th hole, also on the Nicklaus Course. Dave hit a ¾ Gap Wedge from 106 yards that landed in the hole on the fly! And Gary Williams also had his first ace on October 23 on the 7th hole on Palmer. He used a 5-Hybrid from 156 yards. Congratulations, Vance, Dave and Gary!

BodyStretch Class
Tuesdays at 9:00am
Please join us for BodyStretch Class on Tuesday mornings in November at the Beach Club. This class combines light calesthenics (no jumping) with basic stretches and simple movements from Yoga, Pilates and the Titleist Performance Institute all set to music for a fun, safe and effective workout for Members of all ages and fitness levels. You will not be asked to twist your body into a pretzel, you can talk if you want and wear whatever makes you comfortable. Improve your golf game, tennis game or general activities of daily life. The class is FREE for Members, your guests are welcome to pay a guest fee and join in.

Nicklaus Cup Match Play
In the 2019 Nicklaus Cup, Hu Odom defeated Rich Hahn 7&6 and Bob Kraly beat Mark Riddle 6&4 to reach the finals. Also in the Elite Eight were Joe Restein, Bob Smith, Rusty Gates and Frank Pegram. View the updated brackets here.

November Hours and Schedule
Golf Shop
The first tee time every day in November will be 8:00am on Nicklaus and 8:05am on Palmer. The Golf Shop opens at 7:30am. One course will be reserved for Member play until 11:00am each day; your guests are welcome to join you on the Member Course. Beach Club
The Fitness Club and the Member Lounge will be open from 7:00am to 7:00pm every day in the month of November, except for Thanksgiving Day when the Club will close at 2:00pm.
Coach House Tavern
The Tavern serves Breakfast and Lunch every day in November along with Brunch on Sunday. Beginning November 1, Dinner will be served only on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday evenings during the winter months. The Tavern will close at 2:00pm on Thanksgiving Day. Please phone the Tavern at 331-8630 to place carryout orders or to make a dinner reservation.

Arnold Palmer Receives Congressional Gold Medal
Arnold Palmer was the second golfer to receive the Congressional Gold Medal, which must be co-sponsored by two-thirds of the House and Senate. Mr. Palmer became just the sixth athlete to be honored on September 12, 2012 with "the highest honor that can be bestowed upon any living citizen." The bill to award the medal to Mr. Palmer passed 422–1 (who voted no?) in the House and unanimously in the Senate. In addition, chief executives from both parties have honored Palmer: The three-time USGA champion also received the National Sports Award from President Bill Clinton in 1993, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President George W. Bush in 2004.
