Legends Member Guest Tournament
Hitchings and Walsh Take the Title for 2018
Bill Hitchings and Mike Walsh outlasted 23 other teams to win the 12th Annual Legends Member Guest, our premier Member event of the season.  Each two-person team played a Round Robin of five 9-hole matches in four Flights.  Hitchings and Walsh won the Walter Hagen Flight, Vance Phillips and Stephen Pokelwaldt took the Jack Nicklaus Flight, Brad Whitfield and Glenn Joyce topped the Arnold Palmer Flight, Adam Wells and John Bridgforth won the Tiger Woods Flight and Hyler Stanavage and Al Hargey were the Wild Card winners. The Flight winners, plus the Wild Card, competed in a final Shootout to determine the overall champion where Hitchings and Walsh prevailed.  View the Complete Results and video highlights of the Shootout.

Ladies League Luncheon
Thursday, October 4 - 11:00am
The Ladies League celebrates the end of the season by coming together at the Coach House Tavern for a luncheon, election of next season’s Officers, and Awards Ceremony. Casual golf on the Palmer course will follow, weather permitting.  Pre-registration is required, please sign up by calling the Golf Shop at 331.8620 or email Joe Burbee.

PXG Fitting Experience
Thursday, October 18 - 10:00am until 2:00pm
No matter what brand of clubs you play, getting a proper fitting is essential.  We’re all different shapes and sizes and our swings differ hugely so it’s crucial that you get your clubs set up in a way that suits you and your game.  Parsons Xtreme Golf, the brand that is currently taking the industry by storm with its ‘no expense spared’ approach to club manufacturing, has taken the process to a new level with their ‘PXG Fitting Experiences’. Fall Member-Member Tournament
Saturday, October 20 - 9:00am Shotgun Start on the Palmer Course
We cordially invite all of our Members to participate in this year’s Fall Member – Member tournament. 2018 Eastern Shore Open
Friday, October 26 - 11:00 Shotgun Start on the Nicklaus Course
Hermitage Eastern Shore presents the 2018 Eastern Shore Open and Dinner to benefit Eastern Shore Rural Health System's new Eastville Community Health Center. The entry fee is $400 per foursome ($100 per golfer). The tournament format is Captain's Choice and includes Lunch prepared by Hermitage Eastern Shore; Longest Drive and Close to the Pin competitions; mulligans, raffles, on course games available for purchase and one ticket per golfer for the dinner event. You don't have to play golf to participate in the fun! Dinner will follow golf from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. Dinner tickets are available for purchase by non-golfers for $50 per person. Your dinner ticket includes a delicious supper from food trucks, live music by the HM Johnson Band, a benefit auction with auctioneer Chester Jackson, stretch golf cart shuttles provided by Eastern Shore Custom Carts and a dessert table provided by Hermitage Eastern Shore. Tickets purchased online will be charged a minimal convenience fee. Halloween Scramble
Friday, October 26 - 4:00pm Shotgun Start
This fun event is a four person Captain’s Choice with special Halloween Rules!  No handicaps, this one is just for FUN!  $10 per couple or $5 per individual.  Optional Dinner in the Coach House after golf.  Please register for golf, dinner or both by calling the Golf Shop at 331.8620.

Sunday Golf Scrambles
Every Sunday in October at 4:00pm
Join the Fun! Open to all Members and their Guests, we play nine holes and many stay to eat dinner together afterward in the Tavern. Golfers of all skill levels are welcome including beginners! The Golf Shop makes the pairings to equalize the teams as much as possible. This is a great way to meet other members and just have fun! If only one person in your family plays golf, the others can join for dinner. Please stop by or call the Golf Shop at 757-331-8623 before 10:00am to sign up for each Sunday you want to play so that we can make pairings.

Nicklaus Cup Match Play Championship
The 2018 Nicklaus Cup, a season long match play tournament, is well underway. The Champion will receive the traditional shadowbox and personal parking space, with gift cards paid out to those reaching the quarterfinals or higher.  View the Brackets Here.

BodyStretch Class
Please join us for BodyStretch Class on Tuesday mornings in October at 9:00am at the Beach Club. This class combines light calesthenics (no jumping) with basic stretches and simple movements from Yoga, Pilates and the Titleist Performance Institute for a FUN and effective workout for Members of all ages and fitness levels. There is no charge for members, your guests are welcome to pay a Guest fee and join in. You do not have to attend every week to participate.

October Hours and Schedule
Golf Shop
The first tee time every day in October will be 7:30am on Nicklaus and 7:35am on Palmer. The Golf Shop opens at 7:00am. One course will be reserved for Member play until 11:00am each day; your guests are welcome to join you on the Member Course. Beach Club
The Fitness Club and the Member Lounge will be open from 7:00am to 7:00pm every day in the month of October. The pools are now closed for the season and will reopen in May.
Coach House Tavern
The Tavern serves Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner every day in October. Brunch is served on Sundays. Surf & Turf specials are offered on Fridays and Saturdays along with fresh seafood and rotating specials. Italian Night continues on Monday evenings. Please phone the Tavern at 331-8630 to place carryout orders or to make a dinner reservation.

Arnie and Jack
Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus had a sometimes contenious but always cordial friendship.  According to Palmer and Nicklaus biographer Ian O’Connor, Palmer sent the following note after Jack won the 1986 Masters at age 46: “That was fantastic! Congratulations. Do you think there’s any hope for a 56-year-old?”
