✨ POLE DOUBLES & COLLECTIVE SHAPES ✨

4-Week Workshop Series

This time, we’re going bigger.

Welcome to what I like to call Collective Group Pole — doubles, triples, quads, and creative group shapes that are strong, intentional, and actually doable (not just “everyone panic-grab and hope”).

This 4-week series focuses on:
⭐ Partner & group pole foundations
⭐ Creative multi-person shapes
⭐ Clear roles, clean contact points, and smart transitions
⭐ Building trust & communication (the real first skill in doubles training)

Whether you’re brand new to partner work or looking for fresh ideas for an upcoming routine, this series is about playing, connecting, and learning how bodies work together on the pole. Yes, it’s challenging. Yes, it’s fun. Yes, it’s a little addictive.

Requirements: Solid sit, jasmine, genie, and confident climb. Best for Level 2 and up
What’s NOT a requirement: Being perfect! Or...signing up with a friend. Solos welcome - we will be switching around partners somewhat based on skill levels so this is a great way to make new pole friends!

From Fear to Fierce: How Pole Dancing Rewrites Your Rules on Body Confidence and Self-Esteem

When most people think of pole dancing, their minds immediately jump to stereotypical imagery or acrobatic feats that seem impossible for the average person. But beneath the surface of spins, inversions, and graceful flows lies a transformative practice that is reshaping lives, one climb at a time. It’s not just a powerhouse workout; for thousands, it has become a powerful journey towards radical self-acceptance, unshakable body confidence, and a profound sense of self-esteem.

In a world that often demands we look a certain way, pole dancing asks only one thing of you: to show up and move. Whether you walk into your first class in baggy t-shirts or your tenth class in fierce heels, the pole has no judgment. It is simply a tool that, once you learn to work with it, shows you exactly how incredible your body is right now.

Here is a look at why pole dancing is one of the most effective, empowering ways to build body confidence and self-esteem.

1. It Shifting the Focus: From How Your Body Looks to What It Can Do

The most common hurdle in developing body confidence is our obsession with aesthetics. We’re taught to view our bodies as projects to be fixed. Pole dancing completely upends this narrative.

When you are trying to master a new spin, a climb, or eventually, an inversion, your focus shifts entirely. You are no longer thinking about the shape of your thighs; you are thinking about the power in them needed to grip the pole. You aren’t criticizing your arms; you are marveling at their strength to pull you up.

Every session is a testament to your body's capability. The conversation changes from "I wish I was smaller" to "I just held my own body weight," or "I just learned how to flow." This shift from aesthetic goals to functional mastery is the foundation of true, lasting body appreciation.

2. A Constant Stream of "Micro-Wins" to Boost Self-Esteem

Self-esteem isn’t something you’re born with; it’s built through action and accomplishment. Pole dancing is a discipline built on clear, progressive skill acquisition, which provides a unique and constant source of accomplishment.

In every single class, there is an opportunity to learn something new. It might be perfecting the posture in a basic walk, holding a pose for one second longer, or finally nailing a trick you’ve practiced for months. Each of these "micro-wins" sends a powerful message to your brain: I am capable. I am strong. I can overcome challenges.

The sense of pride that comes from conquering a new move is addictive. Unlike a numbers-based goal like weight loss, which can fluctuate and cause frustration, a learned pole skill is yours forever. This snowball effect of competence builds a deep, internal well of confidence that standard fitness routines often miss.

3. Embracing—And Celebrating—Authentic Self-Expression

For many, self-esteem is hindered by a feeling of being unable to truly be themselves. Pole dancing offers a safe, expressive sanctuary. While some pursue it purely as a sport (pole fitness), others lean into its roots in exotic dance, using it to explore sensuality, grace, or emotional storytelling.

There is no "one way" to pole dance. Every dancer develops their own style, flow, and personality on the pole. Whether you are powerful and acrobatic, lyrical and graceful, or fierce and sensual, the pole welcomes you. This freedom of expression allows you to reconnect with parts of yourself that might be suppressed or ignored in daily life. Embracing your unique style and allowing yourself to be seen is an incredibly bold, empowering act that translates directly into everyday confidence.

4. You Realize Your "Imperfections" Are Your Superpowers

In most fitness environments, we try to hide our perceived flaws. In pole dancing, you quickly realize that your body as it is is necessary for success.

  • Tummy: The very area many are self-conscious about is often the crucial point for a safe belly grip.

  • Thighs: Their strength is what keeps you suspended off the floor during climbs and seats.

  • Skin: Yes, the "taboo" requirement of showing skin in pole classes isn't about appearance—it's for safety. Skin-on-metal contact is your grip. Walking into a room and realizing everyone else is wearing shorts because they have to, normalized body parts we’ve been told to cover up. You start appreciating your skin for its functionality, not just its look.

5. The Power of a Supportive, Non-Judgmental Community

You don't go on this journey alone. The community aspect of pole dancing is a cornerstone of its confidence-boosting power. Pole studios are famous for their inclusivity, camaraderie, and lack of ego.

In a pole class, everyone understands the struggle. You will hear the loudest cheers not for the advanced dancer nailing a super-trick, but for the beginner who finally lifts both feet off the floor for the first time. This supportive environment creates a psychological safety net. It allows you to fail, to be clumsy, and to try again without fear of mockery. Being surrounded by people who are celebrating their own diverse bodies and victories encourages you to do the same for yourself.

Conclusion: The Pole As Your Mirror

Ultimately, pole dancing is a mirror. But unlike the mirrors that tell us we aren't enough, the pole reflects your strength, your resilience, your grace, and your power. It doesn't ask you to change who you are; it gives you the tools to discover who you always have been.

It is not just about learning to spin around a metal pole. It’s about taking control of your own narrative, redefining what beautiful and strong mean to you, and building a version of self-esteem that society cannot take away from you. The confidence you build in that studio doesn’t stay there—it walks out with you, affecting how you speak, how you carry yourself, and how you tackle every other challenge that life throws your way.

Siren Of The Month

🧜‍♀️ Siren of the Month: Hailey🧜‍♀️

We are so excited to celebrate our latest Siren of the Month! Since starting her journey in August 2025—after her friend Kayla convinced her to drop into a few beginner sessions—she has become a staple of our community. While she’s tried it all, Regular Pole has her heart. "I wanted to try something that would challenge me in different ways," she shares, "and I ended up becoming obsessed with the community here at Sirens.

Training has become a vital part of her routine, impacting her life far beyond the studio walls. "It's given me something to look forward to every week and has helped with my mental health and confidence so much," she says. Whether she’s flow-ing in Bree's Unfloorgetable choreo or leveling up her skills in Essentials with Ann and Kacie, she’s always pushing for those "bendy and twisty" shapes. Her advice for those nervous to start? "Just show up! You'll get so strong and feel so welcomed—just make sure to have your arnica gel and ice packs ready for the bruises!
