🏆 Find Your Flow: A Guide to Our Classes

Navigating our schedule can be a whirlwind! Whether you’re looking to build a rock-solid foundation or want to let loose and dance, here is a breakdown of what our color-coded levels mean for your pole journey.

🟢 The Foundation: Pole Essential Series

Type: 6-Week Progressive Series

Focus: Pure Trick Technique

This is our highly recommended path. These series are designed to build your strength and skill set from the ground up in a structured, progressive environment. These classes are 75 minutes long, and students who take them tend to level up faster. If you want to learn the "bread and butter" of pole—from your first climb to advanced inversions—this is where you belong.

  • Levels 1, 1.5, 2, and 2.5: Start up again mid-May.

  • Levels 3 and 4: Launching Fall of 2026.

🩵 The Companions: Drop-In Trick Classes

Type: Flexible Drop-In

Focus: Supplemental Learning & Practice

Can’t commit to a full 6-week series? Or maybe you're currently in a series and want a little extra "homework" time? These classes are the perfect supplement. The variety of tricks covered is random, but they build directly on the skills taught in the Pole Essential series. Requests are always encouraged! They allow you to work on skills within your level at your own pace, making them ideal for busy schedules or those wanting to refine specific moves.

💜 Deep Dives: Specialty Pole Tricks

Type: Specialty Skill Sessions

Focus: Specific Technical Mastery

These classes dive deep into the "nitty-gritty" of pole. Instead of a broad overview, we zoom in on specific skill families like climbing, sitting, or inverting. We are currently offering the Siren Midsummer Series as well as Pole Handstand and others to really dial in on specific skills. Expect technical breakdowns that help you conquer those "milestone" moves that require a bit more focused attention.

💙 The Connection: Siren Sequences

Type: Combos & Transitions

Focus: Dancing Your Tricks

It’s one thing to do a trick; it’s another to make it look like a dance. These classes focus on the "glue" between the moves. You'll learn how to link your tricks together into seamless, fluid sequences, focusing on the transitions that make pole look effortless.

💗 The Vibe: Choreo & Basework

Type: Choreography Classes

Focus: Style, Musicality, & Floorwork

From Sirens in Stilettos and Sirenology to UnFLOORgetable Basework, these classes are all about the dance. Learn "done-for-you" routines in a supportive environment—all of these classes are open to beginners, and the choreography for each changes monthly. We put the tricks aside (mostly!) to focus on choreography, floorwork, and finding your personal style. Grab your heels (or socks!) and get ready to move.

🧡 The Playground: Freestyle

Type: "F*ck Around and Find Out"

Focus: Creative Expression

The name says it all. This is a low-pressure space to explore your own movement, test out what you’ve learned in other classes, and find your own unique flow. No set choreo—just you, the pole, and the music.

Not sure which level is right for you? Check out our Class Level Guide chart above or chat with an instructor at the studio! We’re here to help you level up safely and confidently.

Valentia's Vault
A Note from Studio Owner Ann

How to Work With Your Cycle (Not Against It)

Have you ever had one of those days at the studio where you feel like an absolute powerhouse? You’re nailing your inverts, your grip is like glue, and you feel like a total circus pro. Then, a week later, you can barely do a basic climb and you feel like a literal sack of potatoes.

Before you start questioning your progress or wondering if you’ve lost all your strength overnight, take a look at your calendar.

For those of us who menstruate, our bodies aren’t "static." We operate on a monthly hormonal rollercoaster that affects our strength, our skin, and even our bravery. The secret to consistent progress? Cycle Syncing. Cycle syncing means adjusting your workouts, food, and daily habits to match the different phases of your menstrual cycle so you can work with your energy instead of fighting it. Instead of fighting your body, we’re going to learn how to dance with it.

Please note: If you’re on hormonal birth control that stops ovulation (like the pill, patch, ring, implant, or shot), your natural cycle is suppressed so fluctuations will most likely be less dramatic. You can still notice changes during your “period” week (withdrawal bleed), but things are usually more stable overall. You can absolutely still pole during that time—just expect that you might feel a little more tired or weaker, especially during the inactive pill week. Most people just adjust based on how they feel.

Phase 1: The Period (Days 1–5)

The Vibe: Low power mode. On the Pole: This is the time for "Low Flow" and floorwork. If you’re feeling crampy or heavy, don't feel guilty about skipping the power moves. Focus on your lines, your transitions, and some juicy, restorative stretching.

Phase 2: The Follicular Phase (Days 6–14)

The Vibe: The "I can do anything" phase. On the Pole: As your estrogen rises, so does your energy. This is your "Level Up" window. It’s the best time to try that scary new trick, work on your nemesis move, or push your cardio. Your muscle recovery is at its peak here, so go ahead and book that extra class!

Phase 3: Ovulation (Days 14–19)

The Vibe: Peak confidence and "Main Character" energy. On the Pole: Thanks to a little spike in testosterone, you might find you have extra grip and extra guts. This is a great time to film your routines or perform. You’re likely feeling agile and coordinated, so dynamic moves and combos are the way to go. The best time to learn new, challenging tricks on the pole is during Ovulation (days 15-19). During this time, rising estrogen and testosterone levels increase energy, muscle recovery, and mental focus, making it ideal to master inverts, climbs, and advanced spins.

Phase 4: The Luteal Phase (Days 20–28)

The Vibe: The "Why is this so hard?" phase. On the Pole: This is the week leading up to your period, and it can be a doozy. Progesterone rises, which can make you feel out of breath faster and—this is a big one for us—increase skin sensitivity.

  • The Struggle: You might find that the pole hurts more than usual, or that your "grip" has disappeared because your skin temperature has changed.

  • The Fix: Switch to slow flow, active recovery, or conditioning. Give yourself permission to suck. It’s not you; it’s your hormones!

A Few "Real Talk" Tips for the Studio

1. The Grip Mystery If you feel extra "slick" or "sweaty" right before your period, you aren't crazy. Your basal body temperature rises during the luteal phase, which can mess with how your skin interacts with the metal. Keep some extra grip aid in your bag and don't get frustrated!

2. Wardrobe & Management We wear very little clothing in this sport, which can make "that time of the month" feel stressful.

  • Pads can be tricky with high-cut pole shorts (though they totally work for aerial leggings!).

  • Menstrual cups or tampons are the go-to for many of us because they stay put during inverts and don't peek out of your shorts. Use whatever makes you feel most secure so you can focus on your moves, not your outfit.

3. Track Your Progress I highly recommend using a cycle tracking app. When you see a "low energy" day coming, you can plan to take a stretch class instead of an advanced power class.

The Bottom Line

Your worth as a dancer isn't defined by what you can do on your hardest hormonal day. Some days are for crushing goals, and some days are for rolling around on the floor in leg warmers. Both are part of the journey.

Listen to your body, give yourself some grace, and I’ll see you on the pole!

Siren Of The Month

🧜‍♀️ Siren of the Month: Pepa🧜‍♀️

Congratulations to our newest Siren of the Month, Pepa! Since joining us in August 2025, Pepa has dove headfirst into her aerial journey with a contagious level of enthusiasm. What started as a search for an exciting new workout has transformed into a powerful practice of self-connection and strength. For Pepa, the studio is more than just a place to sweat; it’s a space where she has reclaimed her confidence and femininity, especially after recovering from knee surgery. Whether she’s spinning on the pole, exploring the silks, or braving the chains, she finds her "magic" whenever she’s hanging upside down.

Pepa’s dedication to the craft is evident in her focus on technique. She credits our specialized workshops and climbing classes for building her foundation, and she’s currently working toward a seamless, sensual invert and more fluid transitions. Her advice for those just starting out? Just keep showing up! She reminds us that while the "pole bite" is real at first, it eventually fades as you find your strength. We are so proud to have Pepa as part of the Spinning Sirens community, where she continues to inspire us with her progress, her playful spirit, and her brand-new pair of heels!
