What We're Reading

Inclusive Innovation Process

The EdTech Center is committed to ensuring that our processes for developing and sharing innovation reflect a radical commitment to equity. In projects such as Equity in mLearning, we looked to Digital Promise’s report, “Designing a Process of Inclusive Innovation” for an overarching framework for authentically engaging underrepresented stakeholders at the earliest stages and shifting their roles to leaders, participants, and beneficiaries. The report details how to reimagine authority, decision-making, and risk in the context of education. R&D.

Oakland adult literacy students find ways to continue learning during the pandemic
Jen Vanek from the EdTech Center weighs in on the digital divide and the importance of addressing access issues in adult literacy programs. The technology gap has been the biggest challenge to teachers in the pandemic: “It’s really clear. A lot of households without internet, many of those learners are in adult literacy programs.”
