English Now! National Webinar
English Now! blended learning circles leverage technology to increase learner access to language learning and digital skill development. On Tuesday, February 8 at 3PM EST, join presenters Priyanka Sharma and Kathleen O'Connell and our program partners Free Library of Philadelphia, Genesis Center, Literacy DuPage, Thomas Jefferson Adult Career Education at Piedmont Virginia Community College, and the Literacy Council of Montgomery County as we discuss the English Now! implementation playbook and how participants can adapt the model within their own contexts and programs.
Distance Education Strategy Session:
Digital Skills for Educators
Educators are working hard to develop their own digital resilience while simultaneously integrating digital skills in their lessons to support adult learners. As technology changes, educators need continued professional development, resources, and support to adapt to new tools and technologies. In this Distance Education Strategy Session on February 11 at 1PM EST, Ginette Chandler, Director of Professional Development Services of NH Adult Education, will share the New Hampshire Digital Literacy Skills Assessment and Individualized Professional Development Plans. Then, Alison Asher Webber, the EdTech Center’s Director of Strategic Initiatives, and Jamie Harris, Digital Skills Senior Technical Advisor, will then share top instructional strategy findings, best practices, and resources from Digital Resilience in the American Workforce Project. Following the lightning talks, presenters will be available for informal small group discussions.

Project Updates

Building Digital Literacy Skills
through Student Collaboration
As part of the “Changing Course, Transforming Education” theme for the 2022 International Day of Education on January 24th, Saint Lucia’s ConnectED Activity announced the upcoming “Know Your Saint Lucia” Content Curation Slam to demonstrate the power of collaboration. During the event, students across the nation will research, share, and evaluate free digital education resources to build a crowdsourced mobile app. This activity teaches students to identify high-quality digital resources from reputable sources while allowing them to expand the availability of engaging mobile content that supports Saint Lucian’s social studies curriculum.
