Healthcare Worker Seeking to Establish A Career |
This is the fourth of five blog posts introducing personas we’ve developed from data generated interviewing working learners in our research on employer-supported learning. In this post, we introduce Regina, a persona that illustrates the experiences of a healthcare worker who participates in several learning opportunities in order to work toward establishing a career. In this persona, we see the agency that working learners apply when considering and committing to participate in available learning options. |

Strategies for Delivering Remote IET Instruction |
Join us next Friday, March 12th at 1 - 2:30 PM Eastern for a Distance Education Strategy Session. Delivering effective integrated education and training (IET) remotely can be an especially challenging task. IET programs struggle to integrate relevant technologies used at work and to provide meaningful remote instruction for hands-on training concepts such as occupational safety. During our first lightning talk, we’ll learn how David Hilder from So Others May Eat in Washington, DC, has developed innovative, engaging lessons using Google Classroom to provide lessons that develop occupational skills while seamlessly integrating math skills and digital skills. During our second lightning talk, Darryl Robinson and Troy Shockley from Congress Heights (also in Washington, DC) will share how they are using video and a mix of in-person and remote training demonstrations to effectively provide technical skills training to all learners. |
