First, Texas State ABE Director Anson Green will share a few key moves that the Texas Workforce Commission made to make it possible for programs to serve more learning at a distance. Then Ashly Winkle from the Literacy Council of Tyler will walk you through how to use Wakelet to support instruction - making it possible for teachers who don’t have a website to organize digital resources. The site hosts hundreds of multilingual open-licensed books from over 40 countries. The linked storybooks are mobile friendly, easy to click to, and include audio. This is a wonderful resource for ESOL teachers to use to support literacy development in a learner’s home language, or for adult ESOL students to use with their own children.
