What We're Reading

The Ongoing Transformation of Adult ESOL Learning
picture of virtual classroom
COVID-19 caused great economic shock and disrupted our daily lives. While its impact on Adult ESOL learning has been equally disruptive, it has resulted in rapid program innovation and reorganization, improving learning options for adults. The most important development was the availability of remote education opportunities, where ESOL providers and their student population learned to refine their skills over time. Throughout the pandemic, teaching practitioners have learned a great deal. By investigating efforts to sustain adult ESOL programs and responding to the growing demand for English language programs, World Education conducted an examination of such efforts with The Remote ESOL project.
