What We're Reading

National Skills Coalition Digital Skills Fact Sheets
There have been wide-ranging consequences for American businesses and workers as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. As Congress invests in economic recovery through numerous initiatives, the digital divide must be addressed with policies that explicitly place equity at their center. To that end, The National Skills Coalition has published four new Digital Skills facts sheets designed to enhance policymakers' understanding of the urgency of advancing upskilling through legislation like the Digital Equity Act. Collected in these fact sheets are relevant data on Manufacturing, Retail & Hospitality, Health & social work, and Construction, transportation & storage.

The National College Transitions Network/World Education, Inc. Senior Technical Advisor Judy Mortrude is featured on the latest All In: Student Pathways Forward podcast discussing the significance of adult integrated education and training career pathways programs and how these efforts align with the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2014. The episode highlights Maria Cristina Cruz, a parent who is enrolled in an innovative Early Childhood Education program that combines Career Technical Education coursework with foundational skills leading to a college degree. Maria Cristina was also able to secure employment in her academic field.
