Distance Education Strategy Session:
The Digital Equity Act
and Professional Development with Purpose
Join us for the April Distance Ed Strategy Session this Friday at 1PM EST! In our first lightning talk, we’ll get a quick Digital Equity Act (DEA) 101 to prepare for the upcoming funding for digital access. In the second lightning talk, we’ll hear from Arizona educators that have participated in and designed their own EdTech Maker Space projects, a unique approach to professional development that harnesses the power of collaboration, edtech, and Open Educational Resources (OER). Following each lightning talk, please stick around to chat more with the presenter of your choice from 2 - 2:30PM.

Hybrid Strand Meeting
Join us at the COABE 2022 Digital Literacy & Technology Hybrid Strand Meeting! During this hybrid meeting on Monday, April 11th from 5 - 6PM EDT, we’ll discuss the intersecting (and sometimes diverging) paths of digital literacy and educational technology. The meeting will be a dynamic time to collaborate and develop ideas as well as reflect together on the latest developments. To continue the conversation, we’ll be following up our time at COABE 2022 with a LINCS Coffee Break and Community of Practice discussion. Highlights from English Now! Learning Circles
Thanks to the generous support of the Dollar General Literacy Foundation, the English Now! Learning Circles project has served over 20 partner organizations across 10 states. The model has been scaled up substantially since beginning as a pilot consisting of five participant programs, leading to 16 new adult education programs impacting over 700 learners. Advancing Meaningful Connectivity
Towards Active and Participatory Digital Societies
This insightful report from Alliance for Affordable Internet provides a recent update on global internet connectivity, focusing on 9 lower and middle income countries. It introduces the “Meaningful Connectivity framework”  as a way to gauge access and then shares quantitative data illustrating gaps in “meaningful connectivity” unearthed by their research. The brief offers a compelling argument for supporting meaningful connectivity as a digital inclusion strategy.
