Using Northstar in the Classroom

The online Northstar Digital Literacy Assessment has helped over 2 million adults identify the gaps in their digital skills and gain recognition for their competencies.

NEW ONLINE COURSE: Introduction to Online Educational Resources
OER
This course introduces participants to essential information about Open Educational Resources (OER), including key definitions, examples, and reflective activities presented in multimedia format. The goal of the course is for teachers to understand the benefits of using OER, know where to find them, and how to evaluate them.

Type: Self-paced   Length: 3 hours   Fee: $40

In time for some end-of-year PD, Introduction to Online Educational Resources and Introduction to Blended Learning are now just $40 each! Both courses are free to IDEAL Consortium states with basic-level memberships: CA, MA, MD, ME, MN, and TX.

Completion Requirements:
  Complete two narrated modules and two text-based modules, plus three exercises: practice, reflection, and application.

Digital Promise is seeking a Program Manager for their Adult Digital Skills Micro-credentials project. In this role, the Program Manager will manage all aspects of the program including the outreach and recruitment of local partner organizations, the delivery of train-the-trainer workshops, the ongoing support of the local partner organizations, and the assessing and awarding of micro-credentials. The ideal candidate will have passion for education and working with community-based organizations to help traditionally underserved adults gain new digital skills for the workplace and an interest in systems and how they impact learning, and experience managing research projects from beginning to end.
