Assessment and Instruction in Distance and Blended Learning Programs Webinar

This final IDEAL Consortium webinar continues the work of helping you craft a pilot idea for a new or enhanced distance or blended learning program by introducing new ways of thinking about instruction and assessment in your program.

Presenter(s):  Dr. Jen Vanek                                   Wednesday June 19th, 10am ET

The webinar will feature select content from IDEAL’s Distance Education and Blended Learning Handbook (Handbook), which addresses both administrative and instructional issues at the core of successful blended and distance education programming.

The Handbook is informed by current research, policy guidelines, and observations of effective practice documented by IDEAL Consortium members, past and present, and affiliated state leaders. The  IDEAL Consortium is a nationally respected organization that helps member states establish quality, innovative distance and blended learning programs. IDEAL has served as a facilitator of collaboration and the sharing of effective practices since its inception in 2002.

In Case You Missed it
This past month the SABES Program Support PD center collaborated with Dr. Jen Vanek to generate these resources on Distance and Blended learning models. Updates From the Field
ProLiteracy Blended Learning Survey

Technology has the potential to be a powerful tool for improving access to learning opportunities for adult learners and helping to accelerate learning potential. It can increase learning time beyond the classroom and can strengthen educational opportunity within it. Technology and mobile access also support adults who cannot attend classes because of location, family commitments, or schedule conflicts. Use of technology in adult education is still quite new. However, adoption of technology by service providers is on the rise as we begin to understand its potential.

Our friends at ProLiteracy wish to explore the knowledge and usage of technology in programs. Their hope is to develop and provide resources to help our network incorporate technology into instruction by adopting a blended learning approach. Whether your program has incorporated technology or not, your answers to this survey will be valuable.
