What We're Reading Now
New America’s report, Automation Nation: Three Cities Preparing for the Future of Work, examines how three cities are preparing for the work of the future. The steps they have taken,  initial progress, as well as the gaps that remain and lessons learned offer instructive lessons for leaders around the country. The research elucidated how leaders are hungry for more information both on general trends as well as for locally tailored data on  specific effects that automation might have on jobs and skills. It also found an awareness gap with regard to automation’s disproportionate impact on lower-skilled occupations.
Coursera recently released the first edition of a Global Skills Index (GSI) report which assesses the skill proficiency of learners across countries and industries as well as measures which skills are trending around the world.
